In a congratulatory letter, former Minister of Culture Bartłomiej Sienkiewicz praised his invaluable contribution to the development of Polish culture.

Born on May 13, 1949 in Bydgoszcz, northern Poland, Moss studied composition with Piotr Perkowski and Grażyna Bacewicz in Warsaw, as well as in Paris under the guidance of Nadia Boulanger.

In 1981, he settled in the French capital and three years later received French citizenship, pursuing a successful career in France and other West European countries, as well as in Poland.

Moss’s diverse output includes large-scale vocal-instrumental works, concertos and chamber pieces, as well as music for radio, theatre, film and television. He has written incidental music for theatre companies in Paris, Lille, Lyon,  Amsterdam and Rotterdam, and has worked closely with Polish Radio, contributing music to several award-winning drama productions.

Moss’s honours include the Chevalier dans l’ordre des Arts et des Lettres from the French Minister of Culture, an award from the French Académie des Beaux Arts, and the Gold Gloria Artis Medal of Merit for Polish Culture.
