Tennis: Hubert Hurkacz beats Sebastian Korda in Miami

Poland’s Hubert Hurkacz defeated American Sebastian Korda 7-6, 6-7, 6-3 to enter the fourth round of the men's singles at the Miami Open tournament in the US state of Florida on Monday.

The 27-year-old Pole, coached by American Craig Boynton, is playing for his eighth career singles title at the Miami Open, a major US tournament that is sometimes referred to as "the fifth Grand Slam."

The Polish world No. 9, who won the Miami Open in 2021, will now face Grigor Dimitrov of Bulgaria for a place in the quarterfinals.

Meanwhile, Poland's Iga Świątek bowed out of the women's singles competition at the Miami Open after being stopped in the round of 16 by Ekaterina Alexandrova of Russia. The Polish world No. 1 lost 4-6, 2-6.
