Russian casualty toll in Ukraine rises to 486,940: report

Around 486,940 Russian troops have been either killed or wounded in Ukraine since Vladimir Putin invaded the country in February 2022, according to Ukrainian military authorities.

The Russians have also lost 7,510 tanks, 14,508 armored fighting vehicles and 12,538 artillery systems during their military campaign in Ukraine, the General Staff of the Armed Forces of Ukraine said on Wednesday, as cited by state news agency Ukrinform.

On Tuesday alone, Ukrainian forces killed or wounded 1,510 Russian soldiers, according to the ukrinform.net website.

Other Russian losses in Ukraine include 1,070 multiple launch rocket systems, 798 anti-aircraft warfare systems, 351 warplanes, 325 helicopters, 26 warships, and 10,015 unmanned aerial vehicles, ukrinform.net reported.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Wednesday is day 812 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
