Magdalena Biejat, presidential candidate of the New Left and Deputy Speaker of the Senate, the upper house of the Polish Parliament, expressed her support for Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski in his dispute with the U.S. administration and criticized the stance of the Polish opposition.
She wrote on her official X (formerly Twitter) profile: "On the first day of Donald Trump’s presidency, the Polish right-wing collapsed to its knees and continues to grovel more every day. You care so much about praise from American billionaires that you're willing to flatter Elon Musk even when he threatens Poland. No internal disagreements justify what you're doing on Twitter. Minister Radosław Sikorski has my full support on this matter."
Szymon Hołownia, the speaker of the Sejm (lower house of Polish parliament) and leader of the Poland 2050 party, supported by the Polish People's Party (PSL), stated that Elon Musk should apologize to Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski and to Poland.
Hołownia criticized Musk for calling Sikorski a "small man" and telling him to "be quiet" in their exchange on X, emphasizing that no one has the right to insult Polish ministers.
He reiterated that Poland is a proud nation and a responsible partner to the U.S., and that Polish-American relations should be based on mutual respect and facts, rather than escalating international tensions.
In the Sunday exchange, Musk clarified his earlier statement, saying that despite disagreeing with Ukraine's policies, Starlink would never cut off its service to Ukraine, denying he had threatened to disconnect the satellite network.
