"President Andrzej Duda has appointed Magdalena Rzeczkowska to serve as minister of finance at the request of Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki,” the Polish Prime Minister's Office said in a Twitter post.

Rzeczkowska, until now head of the National Revenue Administration (KAS), replaces Tadeusz Kościński, who resigned in February.

The new Polish finance minister is a lawyer by training, state news agency PAP reported.
