Celebrations of Victory in Europe Day were held throughout Poland, remembering the 77th anniversary of the formal acceptance by the Allies of Germany's unconditional surrender in 1945, marking the end of World War 2.
In Warsaw, representatives of state authorities, the President's Chancellery, Parliament and veterans' organisations laid wreaths at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier.
An occasional message from the Speaker of the Lower House Elżbieta Witek was read out by deputy Speaker Piotr Zgorzelski.
