Polish President Andrzej Duda said in a tweet that his face-to-face talks with Hurley focused on Polish-Australian business relations and "the most important issues" for the two countries "and the world us."

He added that he thanked Hurley for Australia's assistance to Ukraine.

"This aid is an important part of the support that Ukraine needs," Duda tweeted.

Meanwhile, Poland's Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki spoke with Hurley about "bilateral relations, Russia's aggression against Ukraine, and energy and food security," according to the Polish Prime Minister's Office.

Hurley was visiting Warsaw as Poland and Australia celebrate 50 years of diplomatic ties.

While in the Polish capital, Hurley was also scheduled to hold talks with parliamentary Speakers Elżbieta Witek and Tomasz Grodzki.

The Polish and Australian prime ministers in February issued a joint statement to mark the 50th anniversary of their countries establishing full diplomatic relations.
