Speaking at a meeting of European Conservatives and Reformists in Warsaw on Saturday, Mateusz Morawiecki said: "We are living at a time of a major geopolitical shift, one that happens once every few decades, sometimes once in a century."
He argued that "Europe today needs to answer whether it wants to be a major global player ... or an entity played by the greats of this world, in particular - as evidenced by what we have seen in the last 15 years - by Russia, its giant, dangerous ... barbaric neighbor" to the east.
He called for a "unification of all forces that want a sensible Europe, a Europe of solidarity, a republican Europe and a great Europe."
Morawiecki told the Warsaw Summit of European Conservatives and Reformists that "if Europe is to be strong and not subject to centralist tyranny ... it must be a Europe of strong, sovereign states that work smoothly with one another."
