“In connection with the murder of a 27-year-old Polish woman in Greece, I have ordered the opening of an investigation,” Zbigniew Ziobro, the Polish Minister of Justice, stated on Monday, calling for swift action to bring justice to the victim.

The case will be handled by the Regional Prosecutor's Office in Wrocław, located in the south-western region of Poland. “Prosecutors will immediately apply to Greek investigators for the transfer of evidence,” Ziobro tweeted.

The victim, identified as Anastazja Rubińska, went missing on Monday, June 12, while working at a hotel on the Greek island of Kos. On Sunday, Greek media reported that the body of the 27-year-old Polish woman had been discovered.

The corpse was found approximately at 7 pm local time, located around a kilometer away from the residence of a 32-year-old Bangladeshi man who had been previously apprehended by the police as the suspected murderer. According to reports, the body was concealed in a bag and covered with branches.

Anastazja had been residing in Greece with her boyfriend, who is also Polish.
