According to ABW's preliminary findings, the detained individuals were actively distributing propaganda materials associated with the Russian mercenary Wagner Group in Kraków and Warsaw.

The materials included leaflets containing links to recruitment websites. The ABW investigation revealed that the distribution took place in Kraków on August 10th and in Warsaw on August 11th. The suspects were found to be in possession of over 3,000 propaganda materials promoting the Wagner Group, which they had received in Moscow.

The individuals, identified as Alexei T. and Andrei G., are alleged to have pinned approximately 300 leaflets in public spaces within Kraków and Warsaw, with the entire operation involving disseminating materials in several hundred public locations across both cities in Poland.

According to the ABW, the suspects documented their activities by photographing the places where propaganda materials were posted in order to claim remuneration from their handlers. The duo was allegedly promised up to 500,000 Russian rubles (PLN 20,000) for their commissioned tasks.

Substantial quantities of propaganda materials and data storage devices were seized from the detainees upon apprehension.

The detainees are now facing a range of charges brought forth by the prosecutor's office. These include allegations of engaging in foreign intelligence activities against Poland, participating in an internationally-oriented armed association with intentions related to acts of terrorism, recruitment for a mercenary service, which is prohibited by international law, and promoting symbols and names that support Russia's armed aggression against Ukraine.

If convicted, both Alexei T. and Andrei G. could face sentences of up to 10 years in prison.
