The operation in the Baltic port of Gdynia saw investigators confiscate 440 kg of the drug with a street value of around PLN 180 million (EUR 40 million, USD 44 million), public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported on Thursday.
The bust marked one of the biggest crackdowns on drug smugglers in Poland in recent years, reporters were told.
Interior Minister Mariusz Kamiński said the operation by Polish law enforcement agencies also involved officers from Poland's Central Bureau of Police Investigation (CBŚP).
Border Guard spokeswoman Anna Michalska said that "a dozen or so people were probably involved in the drug smuggling attempt."
So far, officers have detained one suspect, a 46-year-old Polish man, who faces up to 15 years in prison if charged and convicted, Prosecutor Karol Borchólski told reporters.
The investigation in the case is ongoing, Poland's National Public Prosecutor's Office said.
