Polish royal residences open to visitors for free in November

Nine historic royal residences in Poland will be admitting visitors for free throughout this month, officials have said.

The annual "Free November" initiative will be held in the country for the 12th time, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Tourists can check out attractions such as the Royal Castle in Warsaw, the historic Wawel complex in the southern city of Kraków, and the Castle of the Teutonic Order in the northern town of Malbork.

Other sites available to the public for free this month include Warsaw's Wilanów Palace and the Royal Łazienki Museum in the Polish capital.

Polish Culture Minister Piotr Gliński has said that the annual campaign aims to expand access to museums and other cultural venues across the country in response to requests from the public.
