The gathering, known as the Cabinet Council, began at the presidential palace in Warsaw at around 1 p.m., public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

The president was expected to hold a media briefing after the talks.

At the start of the meeting, Duda called on the government to go ahead with key projects in sectors such as transportation, energy and trade, adding that "they are fundamental elements for the country's continued development."

Prime Minister Donald Tusk told the gathering that "despite differing views and disputes on various matters, ensuring security must emerge as a national priority that unites everyone in the country," Polish state news agency PAP reported.
