"We are currently verifying this information as a matter of urgency," Polish foreign ministry spokesman Paweł Wroński said on Tuesday, highlighting efforts to gain clarity from Israeli authorities on the incident, which led the NGO World Central Kitchen (WCK) to suspend its humanitarian operations in Gaza.

The tragedy has prompted the Polish government to reiterate its call for the humane conduct of the Israel-Hamas conflict, emphasizing the protection of civilians and the support for ceasefire initiatives.

As discussions about diplomatic responses unfold, Wroński indicated that a meeting with the Israeli ambassador to Poland, Yacov Livne, was being arranged.

"We will be making decisions, and when those decisions are made, I will inform you about them immediately," Wroński told reporters.
