Polish Radio has become the latest target of Russian disinformation efforts, according to a report from an EU group monitoring Kremlin propaganda.

The station's website was cloned using a method known as Doppelganger, which involves creating fake versions of credible media outlets.

In this case, the cloned site mimicked the original Polish Radio website, with only a slight difference in the web address—polskieradio.icu instead of polskieradio.pl.

The fake site, created in April, featured identical logos and layout to deceive readers. It published misleading articles with titles such as "An unpleasant truth: the EU will do without Poland" and "Ukraine will stay out of EU". Fortunately, the fake site has not garnered significant traffic, according to the report.

The Doppelganger method has also been used to clone the website of Poland’s weekly Polityka earlier this year, as well as several major Western media outlets including Germany's Die Welt, France's Le Point and Le Parisien, and Italy's La Stampa and La Repubblica, particularly in the lead-up to the European Parliament elections.
