He warned that the most severe scenario for a cyberattack on Poland would be the shutdown of critical infrastructure.

In an interview with private broadcaster TVN24, Gawkowski said that one of the Russian groups focuses on spreading disinformation in Poland, while the other aims to cripple the country's critical infrastructure.

"They operate in coordination," Gawkowski told TVN24. "On one side, there is an attack on critical infrastructure, and on the other, disinformation to sow panic and show that the state is not coping. This is a real threat."

He added that Poland's cybersecurity operations center has detected suspicious activities and taken appropriate action.

The primary targets of such cyberattacks include water and sewage infrastructure, energy systems, and state and local administration, according to Gawkowski.

When asked about the worst-case scenario for Russian cyberattacks, Gawkowski said it could include an attack on critical infrastructure, potentially leading to the failure of water, electricity, and sewage systems.

He revealed that "the Russians have attempted this kind of attack in the last six months."
