The main topics of the meeting included security in the Baltic Sea region and support for Ukraine against Russia's invasion.

While in Warsaw on Tuesday, Billström also met with Belarusian opposition activists and attended a debate with young diplomats from various EU member states.

Sikorski's talks with Billström focused on NATO and transatlantic ties, EU enlargement and international cooperation, in addition to regional security and Russia's war against Ukraine, according to officials.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Tuesday is day 853 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
