The American Embassy produced an emotional tribute to honor the heroes of the tragic events from 80 years ago.
Among those featured were Irena Krajewska and Professor Leszek Żukowski, who met with Ambassador Brzeziński for the anniversary.
The veterans took a tour of modern-day Warsaw accompanied by U.S. Air Force Major Andrew Chen and U.S. Army Major Kelly Keene.
„They managed to ignite a glimmer of hope that guided them through the darkest times and most difficult moments. The insurgents felt fear but did not surrender,” emphasized Mark Brzeziński.
„Today, we pay tribute to those who risked everything. We thank you, heroes, for your courage, your sacrifice, and for showing us what true patriotism means,” continued the ambassador.
„Your stories are our guideposts. On behalf of the American people, we honor the heroes of the Warsaw Uprising. We will never forget your sacrifice,” assured the head of the American Embassy in Warsaw.
