The politician highlighted the need for better age verification on adult content websites and raised concerns that employing facial scans for this purpose involves biometric data collection, which could infringe on the privacy of individuals who wish to keep their usage of such material confidential.

"I support internet freedom and believe that adults should have access to whatever they choose, as long as they are indeed adults," Gramatyka said in an interview.

Gramatyka expressed hope that the new law to safeguard young people from the adverse effects of pornography will be enacted next year.

"Pornography has a destructive effect on young minds, as our research, including the extensive Nastolatki 3.0 project, demonstrates," he added.

Research links pornograpy to harmful brain changes in youth

Studies (like those published in L'Encéphale, 2024) increasingly indicate that pornography can induce significant brain changes similar to those caused by substance abuse, affecting areas like the prefrontal cortex responsible for planning and impulse control.

These changes may lead to compulsive behaviors, reduced reward system activity during physical sexual contact, and an increased need for extreme stimuli, particularly affecting younger individuals whose brains are still developing, as reported by the uzaleznieniabehawioralne.pl portal.
