Two dead in Warsaw car crash near bus stop

According to police reports, around 10:30 a.m. on Woronicza Street in the Mokotów district of Warsaw, a car crashed into a bus stop. Radio Poland has confirmed that the firefighters have completed their work, and only the Warsaw police are still on the scene.

According to the latest police reports, two people have died. A 65-year-old woman passed away in the hospital. Earlier, at the scene of the accident, a 48-year-old woman was killed after being hit by a car. Four others (three women and a child) were transported to hospitals.

As reported by the Warsaw Police via social media, the car struck a woman crossing the street before crashing into the nearby bus stop.

"The driver was sober. Police officers are still working at the scene," reads a post on the Police Warsaw profile on X.com.

Firefighters confirmed CPR failure. Police continue investigation at accident scene

Senior Captain Wojciech Kapczyński from the Warsaw City Fire Department confirmed in an interview with Radio Poland that cardiopulmonary resuscitation (CPR) was performed on one of the injured individuals.

Kapczyński stated that "the resuscitation attempts were unsuccessful for the individual who was treated."

He noted that while some of the injured were hospitalized, others had only minor injuries that didn't require admission.

"Our work at the scene has concluded," confirmed captain Kapczyński. While the firefighters have finished their tasks, the Warsaw police are still examining the accident site.

Driver swerved at bus stop, hitting more people, witness reports

Polish Radio 24 reports that a witness, whose account was confirmed by Edyta Adamus from the Warsaw Police Press Office, observed that the driver who hit the woman did not try to brake but instead swerved towards the bus stop, hitting additional people.
