In addition to financial aid, the Polish capital will offer 900 places to municipalities affected by flooding to organize so-called green schools for children.
"Apart from things for basic use we are constantly collecting and sending, I have initiated the transfer of 5 million dollars in financial support to Nysa, Kłodzko, Lądek-Zdrój, and Głuchołazy. I am very glad that the Capital City Council agreed to provide such aid," Trzaskowski told reporters at a press briefing held on Saturday.
The mayor mentioned that the city's authorities are exploring ways to provide further assistance to municipalities affected by the flood. "We are aware that many schools have been flooded, and that's why we want to offer opportunities for organizing recreational activities for children and young people from the affected areas. We are considering the possibility of organizing "green schools" to provide alternative learning environments. We are proposing 900 spots for these "green schools" in educational and training centers as well as institutions in Warsaw," stated the mayor of the city.
It was noted that all the costs of such projects would be covered by the Polish capital.
