As confirmed in a statement to the Polish state news agency PAP by Katarzyna Rybka-Iwańska, spokesperson for the Polish Embassy in Washington, the reason for shortening the minister's visit to the U.S. is the urgent Cabinet meeting called for this Saturday to discuss the budget in the context of the flood situation.

According to the original plans, Poland's top diplomat was to meet with representatives of the Polish community in the Detroit suburbs in Michigan, one of the most important states for the outcome of the presidential election.

The purpose of the visit was to encourage Polish Americans to vote for candidates supporting NATO. The agenda also included a visit to the headquarters of General Dynamics Land Systems, the manufacturer of Abrams tanks, as reported by the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs.

President Andrzej Duda has returned to Poland from his trip to the United States. According to TVN Warszawa, the presidential plane had to abort its landing at Chopin Airport in Warsaw due to another aircraft colliding with a bird carcass, which required the intervention of a falconer. However, the plane safely landed on its second approach.
