The exhibition, which marks the anniversary of the final day of the Uprising, showcases the devastation of the city by German forces and the remarkable efforts to rebuild it.

Jan Ołdakowski, Director of the Warsaw Uprising Museum, emphasized the timeless relevance of the exhibition, noting that even in the most catastrophic destruction, there is hope for reconstruction. "Just as Warsaw was rebuilt, we hope that in the near future, Ukrainian cities, which are currently in ruins or completely destroyed, can also be restored," Ołdakowski told the Polish Press Agency.

The exhibition not only highlights a crucial event in 20th-century Polish history but also serves as a reminder that recovery from complete devastation is possible. "Today’s Warsaw, a vibrant and dynamic city, stands as proof of this," Ołdakowski added, expressing hope that MEPs, regardless of their political affiliations or nationalities, would see that European unity also means solidarity in reconstruction efforts.

Andrzej Halicki, the organizer of the exhibition and head of the Polish PO-PSL delegation within the European People's Party, remarked that it was symbolic for the 80th-anniversary commemorations of the Warsaw Uprising, which began in Warsaw on August 1, to conclude in Brussels. The exhibition opened on October 2, the final day of the Uprising.

"We wanted to showcase this exhibition in Brussels to foster European awareness, which is the foundation for political, economic, and legal decision-making in Europe," Halicki told PAP.

The exhibition, presented in English, focuses on the key moments and figures of the Warsaw Uprising. The initiative is supported by Poland's Ministry of Culture and National Heritage.
