Polish, Czech gov’t ministers to hold talks in Prague

Polish government ministers are expected to discuss a range of bilateral and European issues with their Czech counterparts during two-way talks in Prague on Wednesday.

The talks, known as intergovernmental consultations, will be led by Poland’s Prime Minister Donald Tusk and the Czech Republic's Petr Fiala, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.

Key topics include energy, transport and geopolitical challenges, in addition to flood protection, according to officials.

The two governments will also talk about cross-border cooperation, migration and support for Ukraine against Russia's invasion, Polish state news agency PAP reported.

The previous Polish-Czech intergovernmental consultations were held in Katowice, southern Poland, in July last year.

Russia invaded Ukraine on February 24, 2022, starting the largest armed conflict in Europe since World War II.

Wednesday is day 959 of Russia’s war on Ukraine.
