The call follows a report by Wirtualna Polska revealing Tomczak’s longstanding connections with real estate developers through his notary office.
According to WP, Tomczak’s firm has facilitated the sale of over 1,700 apartments and processed more than 3,600 transactions between clients and developers in the past four years. His office’s earnings from handling multiple development projects reportedly amount to several million Polish złotys.
Zawisza addressed the matter at a press conference, urging Prime Minister Donald Tusk to act swiftly. “Enough of ministers who prioritize developers and banks over citizens,” she stated. She argued that, should the prime minister side with “politicians over the people,” it would reveal the government’s priorities.
Zandberg criticized the government’s handling of housing policy, claiming that officials like Tomczak have contributed to the rise in property prices and have aligned with corporate interests. He questioned whether those appointing Tomczak were aware of his potential conflict of interest.
“The sad reality,” Zandberg added, “is that the government has stood with developers instead of fulfilling housing promises.” He called on the prime minister to intervene, noting, “This is where the prime minister’s response is critical.”
