Wałęsa questioned how someone with such a questionable background and actions could be elected as the leader of the country, adding, "It’s a disgrace for the world."
He also noted that historically, the United States had set a positive example for the world, but this time, it was "something unbelievable."
Wałęsa expressed doubts about the potential consequences of Trump's victory for the West, NATO, and Ukraine, emphasizing that with Trump’s character and track record, it is hard to predict anything positive.
He questioned whether a presidency based on such questionable actions could serve as a good example for society.
According to the Associated Press, on November 6, 2024, Trump secured 277 electoral votes, seven more than the required minimum, while Democratic candidate Kamala Harris currently holds 224 electoral votes.
