According to Minister for EU Affairs Adam Szłapka, Warsaw plans to emphasize security across seven key dimensions: external, internal, informational, economic, energy-related, food-related, and health-related.
As part of Poland’s presidency agenda, 22 informal ministerial meetings will be held in various Polish cities, complemented by cross-sectoral conferences focused on each of the seven security dimensions. The government’s program for its EU presidency was approved on Tuesday by the Council of Ministers.
“We are focusing on what’s most important—Europe’s security,” Szłapka told reporters. He added that individual ministers will soon outline their top priorities within their respective fields of responsibility.
Poland’s presidency will feature a new logo by artist Jerzy Janiszewski, best known for designing the iconic “Solidarity” logo and Poland’s 2011 EU presidency emblem. The new design integrates the Polish flag into the EU abbreviation. A dedicated website, Poland25.eu, was launched on Tuesday to provide information on the upcoming term.
From January to the end of June 2025, Poland will host more than 300 official gatherings, including 22 informal ministerial councils. Organizers anticipate that over 40,000 guests from across Europe will visit the country. A wide-ranging cultural program will accompany the presidency, starting with a gala event at Warsaw’s Grand Theatre—National Opera on January 3.
Officials highlighted three key priority areas: industrial policy (encompassing energy prices, a level playing field with China, and support for energy-intensive sectors), simplification of EU regulations, and deepening the EU internal market.
