"Decency compels me to speak up on this matter," said Michał Wiśniewski, a singer who has been actively involved in numerous charitable initiatives over the years and is known for helping those in need, especially children from orphanages, which he himself grew up in.
In a video shared on social media, Wiśniewski asked people who respect him, even a little, to stand against the recent attacks on Jurek Owsiak, the founder of the Great Orchestra of Christmas Charity (WOŚP), which will hold its 33rd charity event on January 26, 2025.
Wiśniewski emphasized that the 33 years of WOŚP’s existence have built the largest charity campaign in the world. He pointed out that this event has a unique ability to unite Polish citizens.
"You can't be so vile as to falsely accuse a person who simply succeeded," noticed Wiśniewski.
The singer expressed his sadness over the false accusations made against the head of WOŚP but assured that he, his family, and the majority of his fans stand firmly with Owsiak.
"No one has united us Poles in a common cause like he has," assured Michał Wiśniewski, highlighting the immense impact of Jurek Owsiak’s work on many people.
Poland was outraged by the criminal threats recently received by Jurek Owsiak, following a wave of hate fueled by right-wing media critical of WOŚP. The police have already arrested a suspect in the case.
