Ahead of Tuesday’s government meeting, Prime Minister Tusk announced that he had asked the Minister of Foreign Affairs to ensure Polish consulates in the U.S. are prepared for potential consequences of President Trump’s announced deportations of illegal immigrants.

The Prime Minister assured that Polish citizens residing in the U.S. would be able to rely on assistance from Polish consular officials and the government.

“There may be no reason for concern, but Poland will be well-prepared for any situation. Every Polish man and woman will be warmly welcomed home. Everyone will find their place in their homeland. Here, everyone will find their own America. A lot has changed in recent years. Anyone who wants to work, who believes in their future and their own abilities, will find the right place in Poland. We will welcome all of them with open arms,” said the head of the Polish government.

"There may be no reason for concern, but I want to assure you that Poland will be prepared for any situation," emphasized Donald Tusk.

Polish Prime Minister has asked the relevant services to assist in facilitating the return to Poland of Poles living abroad and also appealed to them to return to their homeland.

President Donald Trump has announced the launch of a broad deportation campaign against illegal immigrants, including changes to citizenship law and executive orders aimed at closing the southern border and eliminating criminal cartels.

Earlier, in a social media post, the Polish Ministry of Foreign Affairs encouraged Poles living abroad to consider returning to their homeland.

The message highlighted that after 20 years of EU membership, Poland "has evolved from a typically emigration-oriented country to a magnet that attracts foreigners looking for a better future for themselves."
