The politician explained that the new U.S. immigration policy targets illegal migrants from the south who commit crimes, adding that consulates are ready to assist Poles if needed, although the decisive factor in this matter will be the U.S. justice system.

According to Paweł Kowal, "each country independently shapes its own immigration policy." In his opinion, President Trump's statement on immigration is likely not directed against Poles, but rather other ethnic groups, and if it concerns Poles, it would only affect those residing illegally in the U.S.

Prime Minister Donald Tusk instructed Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski to ensure that Polish consulates in the United States are prepared for possible deportations of Poles, following announcements of stricter immigration policies.

The Ministry of Foreign Affairs advised consular offices to arrange additional shifts and encouraged Poles with expired passports to obtain new ones.
