Polish prosecutors have announced the launch of an investigation into the planned construction of two high-rise buildings on land owned by the company Srebrna in Warsaw.
According to an official statement, the investigation concerns allegations that Austrian businessman Gerald Birgfellner was misled into making unfavorable financial decisions, resulting in a loss of no less than €1.3 million.

Between May 2017 and July 2018, a person acting on behalf of Srebrna sp. z o.o. allegedly deceived Birgfellner by falsely claiming to have the authority to make decisions on behalf of the company and by failing to follow through on payment for services related to the preparation of the high-rise development project on Srebrna Street.
The real estate venture was linked to Jarosław Kaczyński, and four years ago, the prosecutor initially handling the case refused to open an investigation. The case has now been reopened, as announced by attorney Roman Giertych via social media.
Prosecutor Ewa Wrzosek told TVP Info that before Jarosław Kaczyński can be questioned, other individuals involved in the case must be interviewed first.
During a press conference on Monday, Jarosław Kaczyński dismissed the investigation, denying any bribery allegations and accusing his political opponents of deliberate deception. While acknowledging that appearing before the prosecutor is a legal obligation, he questioned the legitimacy of the current prosecution office, calling its actions illegal.
