"Poland does not recognise the legality of the so-called presidential election held in the Georgian region of Abkhazia by the separatist authorities in Sokhumi on 15 February 2025," the Polish foreign ministry said in a statement on Sunday.
It added that Poland "does not recognise any actions aimed at undermining the sovereignty and territorial integrity of Georgia within its internationally recognised borders."
It called on Russia "to fulfil all obligations resulting from the peace agreement of 2008."
In August 2018, Poland, Lithuania, Latvia and Ukraine issued a joint statement on the 10th anniversary of "the Russian military aggression against Georgia.”
In it, they called on Russia to "reverse its illegal recognition of the so-called independence" of the Georgian regions of Abkhazia and South Ossetia.
