Siarka later apologized, claiming he was referencing a poem by Polish poet Władysław Broniewski and that "familiar phrases can resurface in moments of strong emotion."
Opposition MEP Krzysztof Brejza immediately reported the incident to the Warsaw District Prosecutor’s Office, which has since launched an investigation.
Justice Minister Adam Bodnar also filed his own complaint, stating that some boundaries "must not be crossed" and that a strong state response is necessary.
Sejm Speaker Szymon Hołownia announced plans to impose the maximum fine of 20,000 PLN (€4,800 or $5,030) on Siarka. A financial penalty was also imposed on a 37-year-old MP from the far-right Confederation party, who, while intoxicated, struggled to participate in the session.
The incident occurred during a debate on former Justice Minister Zbigniew Ziobro, who had declared that "Donald Tusk will go to prison."
