The government in Poland is working with the Ministry of National Defense to implement nationwide voluntary training programs open to all citizens, with additional specialized sessions under consideration.
Speaking in parliament last Friday, Prime Minister Donald Tusk stressed the importance of a strong reserve force alongside Poland’s professional army and Territorial Defense Forces (WOT).
The politician reaffirmed the government’s commitment to expanding training opportunities, stating, "We must significantly increase the state's capacity so that anyone interested in military training can participate."

At the start of Tuesday’s cabinet meeting, PM Tusk reiterated Poland’s goal of training 100,000 volunteers annually by 2027. While interest in service remains high, he acknowledged that access to training is still limited. The government aims to address this by developing a more structured and widely available training model.
Donald Tusk also announced on X that members of the government and their staff will undergo voluntary military training.
"I have just informed the ministers that government members and their officials will also undergo training. Voluntarily. This was met with full understanding," Tusk wrote on Tuesday.
He also confirmed that the Ministry of National Defense is finalizing proposals to scale up the program, with recommendations expected by the end of March.
