Duda will hold talks with President Rumen Radev, National Assembly Speaker Natalia Kiselova and Prime Minister Rosen Zhelyazkov.

According to Wojciech Kolarski, Duda's top international policy adviser, the Polish president will urge Bulgarian leaders to back raising NATO defense spending to 3 percent of GDP at the alliance's June summit in The Hague.

"The visit serves two purposes: driving forward the defense-spending initiative within the alliance, and further enhancing the already strong bilateral relations between Poland and Bulgaria,” Kolarski said.

On Wednesday morning, Duda and his wife Agata Kornhauser-Duda will meet with the Romanian presidential couple, followed by a wreath-laying ceremony at the Tomb of the Unknown Soldier in front of St. Alexander Nevsky Cathedral in Sofia.

Bilateral talks and a one-on-one meeting with Radev will take place at the presidential palace in Romanian capital, after which both presidents will brief the press.

Later, Duda will meet with the Romanian parliamentary Speaker and then hold talks with the country's prime minister.
