Poland will build a 350 km/h high-speed rail network and a new central airport, with first routes opening in 2032, Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak said after a cabinet council meeting.
By end-2032, the roughly 130 km KDP stretch between Łódź and Warsaw is to open, with segments to Poznań and Wrocław delivered by 2035. Trains on the Y route are planned to operate at 300320 kmh.

Infrastructure Minister Dariusz Klimczak said Poland’s Central Communication Hub (CPK) airport and high-speed rail (KDP) projects are on schedule and will deliver “the fastest high-speed rail in Europe,” designed for 350 km/h.

He said the government improved project parameters compared with an earlier 250 km/h concept and stressed investments would be carried out by Polish firms, with the new airport fully in Polish hands.

Planned travel times include under 100 minutes from Warsaw to Poznań and 15–17 minutes from Warsaw to the new airport.

Klimczak said actions, including a fleet purchase for LOT, are coordinated to ensure safe delivery of major infrastructure and to end previously dispersed responsibilities. He also noted the A2 freeway between Łódź and Warsaw will be widened to three and four lanes, a project worth about PLN 2 billion (EUR 468 million).

Under the CPK program, a central airport between Warsaw and Łódź and a KDP system will be built. The airport will initially handle 34 million passengers annually and be designed for flexible expansion.

Construction at Baranów, Wiskitki, and Teresin is due to start in 2026, with certifications in 2031 and opening in 2032 alongside the first KDP section: Warsaw–CPK–Łódź. The investment through 2032 is estimated at PLN 131.7 billion (EUR 31 billion).
