Marchers from different parts of the city converged outside the regional government office, forming a large rally that filled central Katowice.

Union leaders warned that Poland’s energy transition and industrial restructuring risk undermining employment in one of the country’s most heavily industrialised regions.

Protest organisers handed their demands to the regional governor, urging stronger protections for workers and local industries.

Police said the protest remained mostly peaceful, with only minor incidents involving flares and fireworks.
