Polish president to promote senior officers on Independence Day

Poland’s National Security Bureau (BBN) said on Saturday that President Karol Nawrocki has approved a series of promotions to general and equivalent ranks across the armed forces and uniformed services.

The promotions include senior officers from the army, air force, territorial defence forces, navy, police, border guard and state fire service.

Several army officers will be elevated to the rank of major general and one naval officer to vice admiral.

New brigadier generals will also be appointed in the military, along with promotions in the police, border guard and fire service.

The president will formally present the promotion acts on November 11 at noon in Warsaw’s Piłsudski Square during the official National Independence Day celebrations.
