In a statement, the ministry expressed "solidarity and unequivocal support for Latvia and other countries facing increasing pressure from Russia."
Russia's UN ambassador Vassily Nebenzia accused Latvia on Monday, without providing evidence, of allowing Ukraine to use its territory to prepare drone strikes against Russia.
The Russian diplomat also threatened Latvia with military retaliation, according to reports, and claimed that NATO would not come to the country's aid, even though Latvia has been a member of the alliance since 2004.
Polish Foreign Minister Radosław Sikorski said on X on Thursday that "there is no acceptance for Russia’s threats against our allies."
"You have no right to falsely accuse the Baltic states," Sikorski wrote, addressing Russia directly.
"It is clear who the aggressor is and who the victim is. We remain firmly committed to the principles of the UN Charter and the Atlantic Treaty," he added.
