Sławomir Broniarz, head of the Polish Teachers’ Union (ZNP), said the protest would see staff refusing to carry out extra duties such as running extracurricular activities and overseeing school trips.
Poland’s education minister last month promised that teachers' salaries would increase by 6 percent next year, on top of a pay raise in three stages since April 2018, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported.
Earlier this year, thousands of schools across Poland cancelled classes after teachers on April 8 went on a nationwide strike of unlimited duration to demand hefty pay raises.
The protest began just before end-of-school exams at various levels of education.
The Polish Teachers’ Union announced later that month it was suspending, but not ending, the pay strike amid a rumbling dispute with the government.
