Polish ruling party loses majority in Senate
Poland’s ruling Law and Justice party has lost its majority in the Senate, the upper house of parliament, despite a victory in elections to the lower house.

Analysts say this may hamper the party's drive to push through its conservative agenda.
“The Senate cannot block bills … it can only delay the legislative process. We will take this into account. Nevertheless, we are keen on making the Senate a place where the war that is demolishing Poland’s political life is held in check,” said Law and Justice leader Jarosław Kaczyński.
