Poland earlier this month shut all schools, universities and nurseries as part of efforts to curb the spread of the coronavirus.
Prime Minister Mateusz Morawiecki announced on Friday that an initial two-week closure of the country’s schools would be extended until Easter.
Education Minister Dariusz Piontkowski has told the nation’s teachers and students that the extension means online classes should be taught on an ongoing basis and enable feedback and evaluation, public broadcaster Polish Radio’s IAR news agency reported on Monday.
Piontkowski said this month that Polish Radio and state broadcaster Polish Television were providing teachers and students with "a large number of popular science and educational programmes that can help with remote learning."
A total of 749 people have tested positive for the Covid-19 disease in Poland, with eight deaths from the coronavirus so far, officials said on Monday.
