The district court in Oświęcim, southern Poland, ordered the 24-year-old driver to pay PLN 1,000 (EUR 225, USD 255) in damages to both Szydło and to a government protection officer injured at the time.
Szydło’s car hit a tree in the southern city of Oświęcim in the accident on February 10, 2017.
The 24-year-old driver had been driving a Fiat Seicento, a small passenger car.
The court on Thursday said that a government protection officer had also broken rules. It added that three government cars in Szydło’s convoy had flashing lights switched on, but not their sirens.
