Of the new cases confirmed on Thursday, 3,142 were in the densely populated southern coal-mining region of Silesia.
Meanwhile, 2,555 new infections were reported in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
The western province of Wielkopolskie, which is home to the major city of Poznań, had the third-highest number of new infections confirmed by officials on Thursday, at 2,495.
The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 507 people with pre-existing medical conditions and 175 who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.
On Wednesday, Poland confirmed 803 deaths and 21,283 new coronavirus infections nationwide, compared with 644 deaths and 13,227 fresh cases a day earlier.
On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
33,253 in hospitals, 352,951 quarantined
The health ministry announced on Thursday morning that 33,253 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 3,443 of them on ventilators, with a further 352,951 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,238,638 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, including 8,837 over the last 24 hours, the health ministry also said.
