Of the new cases confirmed on Tuesday, 1,307 were in the densely populated southern coal-mining region of Silesia.
Meanwhile, 1,248 new infections were reported in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
The western province of Wielkopolskie, which is home to the major city of Poznań, had the third-highest number of new infections confirmed by officials on Tuesday, at 885.
The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 437 people with pre-existing medical conditions and 164 who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.
On Monday, Poland confirmed 101 deaths and 7,283 new coronavirus infections nationwide, compared with 207 deaths and 12,153 fresh cases a day earlier.
On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
31,938 in hospitals, 262,571 quarantined
The health ministry announced on Tuesday morning that 31,938 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 3,287 of them on ventilators, with a further 262,571 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,354,652 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, including 19,674 over the last 24 hours, the health ministry also said.
