Of the new cases confirmed on Thursday, 2,123 were in the densely populated southern coal-mining region of Silesia.
Meanwhile, 1,397 new infections were reported in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
The southwestern province of Dolnośląskie, which is home to the major city of Wrocław, had the third-highest number of new infections confirmed by officials on Thursday, at 1,376.
The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 519 people with pre-existing medical conditions and 175 who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.
On Wednesday, Poland confirmed 740 deaths and 13,926 new coronavirus infections nationwide, compared with 601 deaths and 9,246 fresh cases a day earlier.
On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
29,831 in hospitals, 252,098 quarantined
The health ministry announced on Thursday morning that 29,831 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 3,229 of them on ventilators, with a further 252,098 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,380,787 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, including 14,557 over the last 24 hours, the health ministry also said.
