Of the new cases confirmed on Saturday, 1,555 were in the densely populated southern coal-mining region of Silesia.
Meanwhile, 1,237 new infections were reported in the central region of Mazowieckie, which includes the national capital Warsaw.
The latest deaths in Poland’s coronavirus outbreak are 377 people with pre-existing medical conditions and 136 who died directly because of COVID-19, the Polish health ministry said.
On Friday , Poland reported 10,858 new infections and 539 more deaths.
On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country more than a year ago.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
28,128 in hospitals, over 241, 679 quarantined
The health ministry announced on Saturday morning that 28,128 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 3,195 of them on ventilators, with a further 241,679 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,401,457 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, including 20,670 over the last 24 hours, the health ministry also said.
