But public health authorities have warned that the number of COVID-19 cases in Poland could increase again in the autumn, with officials urging people to get vaccinated before a potential fourth wave of infections.
The latest infections bring Poland’s total number of cases during the pandemic to 2,880,865, while the death toll stands at 75,160.
Of the new cases confirmed on Monday, the most—seven each—were in the southern province of Małopolskie, which includes the historic city of Kraków, and the western region of Wielkopolskie, which is home to the major city of Poznań.
On Sunday, Poland confirmed one death and 66 new coronavirus infections nationwide, compared with seven deaths and 86 fresh cases a day earlier.
On April 8, the country reported its highest daily toll of 954 deaths related to the coronavirus.
On April 1, the Polish health ministry confirmed 35,251 new single-day cases, the most since the pandemic hit the country early last year.
Poland's first case of coronavirus infection was reported on March 4, 2020.
411 in hospitals, 97,367 quarantined
The Polish health ministry announced on Monday morning that 411 COVID-19 patients were in hospitals nationwide, 59 of them on ventilators, with a further 97,367 people quarantined for possible coronavirus exposure.
Meanwhile, 2,652,577 people have now recovered from COVID-19 throughout the country, the health ministry also said.
