Polish firefighters return home after battling wildfires in France

On August 11, Poland sent 49 fire engines with a total crew of 146 to help combat wildfires raging in the south of France.

The Polish fire crews were deployed to the region around the southwestern French city of Bordeaux. Their main task was to prevent the fires from spreading.

The trip to France was the 37th international mission of Poland's State Fire Service (PSP), according to officials.

Over the past year, Polish fire crews have helped put out wildfires in TurkeyGreece and the Czech Republic.
