"The incident took place on the section protected by the Border Guard post in Białowieża, eastern Poland", said Lieutenant Anna Michalska, spokesperson for the Commander-in-Chief of the Border Guard.
A patrol was sent to the area after officers noticed a group of about 22 people trying to cross the border.
"Foreigners reacted with aggression to the fact that the border is protected, that they will not be able to get to the Polish side," said Lieutenant Anna Michalska. "No one was hurt. Only two windows were broken in the Border Guard's vehicle. The car now needs to be repaired," she added.
According to Lieutenant Anna Michalska, Belarusian services encourage migrants to adopt such behaviors. "These attacks are certainly also encouraged by the Belarusian services, which certainly provide them with elements of paving stones or bricks because they will not find these things in the forest" - the spokeswoman noted.
Last day, 86 people illegally tried to cross Belarus into Poland. They included citizens of India and Yemen. Of them, 15 returned to Belarus when they saw Polish patrols, according to the Polish Border Guard agency.
